1998 Holiday In Elsinore Musical Comedy. Original music by Timothy Opie and Alice Robinson Director Jack Opie, with Adam May, Russell Bedford and Rebecca Hicks. Waterdale Theatre, Heidelberg. Then at Carlton Courthouse with Jim McNair replacing Russel Bedford. Synopsis: Queen Gertrude invites Hamlet's old school mates Rosie and Goldie to visit and cheer her son out of his misery. "This is going to be the holiday of a lifetime!" Good-natured and loyal, they do everything they can think of to help their nerdy and erratic chum, but each attempt only makes things worse. They escort Hamlet on a ship to England, but, while boldly fighting off pirates, lose him overboard. The report of their undeserved execution in England is, happily, quite inaccurate. (You know what liars ambassadors are.) Songs include: None Here to Wish me a Sea without Gale, We've Come to Help a Friend, Summertime in Elsinore, What a Piece of Work is a Man, Ode to Gertrude, old school song The White-washed Walls of Wittenberg, and No Children to Ask Me to Butter Their Bread. No reviews. Rosie (Adam May) smells something rotten in the State of Denmark
